Just like Homer Simpson this mans appeal lies in the fact that his head is so bald and shiny it becomes hypnotic.I cant help but follow the contours of those light glimmers as he turns his magnificent dome. Seriously though good advice, mindfulness and meditation should really be taught in every school

Has anyone else had no luck with mindfulness? I've been doing it twice a day for almost a year and in this time I've only become more anxious. Not that mindfulness is making things worse or anything like that, but just does it not work for everyone?

So basically meditation trains the brain not to over think things. He was able to juggle like that because he wasn't worrying about his hands being there. Instead just relying on the balls to be there. All he has to do is remember a pattern and a time frame. Freeing his mind to be able to communicate with the audience?

I think when juggling, we enter a special mental state like yoga, TM, or even being hypnotized. Would love to see the brain science of these states. BTW, here's me and mine, juggling:

This is an ancient practice (very well illustrated and summarised here) sometimes called the perennial philosophy. Eckhart Tolle is the latest populariser of this (in clear language, and to find this teaching buried in every religion), and before him were Alan Watts and Krishnamurti, and others before them, going back to the original ancient Hinduism (before it degenerated into a pantheon of very human-like 'gods'). Eckhart Tolle quotes the following from original Hinduism: It is not WHAT the eye can see, but THAT whereby the eye IS ABLE to see -- know this to be Brahma the Spirit, and not what people here on Earth adore. It is not WHAT the skin can feel, but THAT whereby the skin IS ABLE to feel -- know this to be Brahma the Spirit, and not what people here on Earth adore. It is not WHAT the mind can think, but THAT whereby the mind IS ABLE to think -- know this to be Brahma the Spirit, and not what people here on Earth adore. (And one could go through the other physical senses before one gets to the mind.) We are not our mind. We are an Awareness that observes all things without judgement or reaction, including the thoughts and emotions that our mind throws up. When we are lost in our mind, we are really unconscious, and so we need to practice observing our mind (with bemused detachment), so the Awareness that is really us can awaken. The Bhudda means the awakened one.

What does mindfulness mean to you? 🌿 More often than you would think, people tell me they have never heard of the concept really, or it doesn't mean anything specific for them. Mindfulness is an art you discover from within. You need to be aware of this tool and allow yourself space to explore.

Thank you for this Andy! In Nia, we call it Living Meditation. It is those moments that are present, even in the 'doing', that we are not doing anything. Taking time to notice where the sensation of touch is happening in our body brings us to the 'non-doing', the Living Meditation that is with us all the time. 10 minutes. yes! BUT even nano-seconds of 'non-doing' brings us to the present moment. Living Meditation for health and happiness. Check it out!
